Panasonic Sport Road Bike - Tall - Blue
Low-end vintage Japanese road bikes are beautiful. The simplistic graphics, the colorful slightly metallic paint, the rock-solid lugged steel construction, the basic, reliable componentry, and the no-frills design make most of these bikes classic.
This tall Panasonic Sport is a perfect example. The blue paint glows. The Panasonic logo is legendary. The decals are clean. There are enough scratches and spots of surface rust to add character. And the frame size conveys an impressive stature.
In short, the Panasonic is a gorgeous bike. So it would make sense to document it with a series of amazing, highly-detailed photos in an environment that fits the bike's style.
But unfortunately, all I ended up with was a bunch of sub-par shots in front of my dilapidated old fence. The head tube badge and down tube decal are totally out of focus. There's glare on the frame. The angles are all weird. The mood is gloomy. In short, these photos just don't do this bike justice.
Someday I'll buy a nice camera and learn how to shoot good photos. Until then, enjoy these crappy pictures, because this bike is probably chained to a parking meter in Manhattan right now. Bad photography or not, I'm glad I documented it while I had the chance.
Scroll down for more photos. But don't get your hopes up.
